Aurora Expeditions

Aurora Expeditions is an Australian-owned adventure company specialising in small-group voyages to the Polar Regions and other wild, remote destinations. A world leader in expedition cruising, it offers passengers the chance to have an intimate experience of the destination, with the support of expert staff and flexible, innovative itineraries. Deeply committed to education and preservation of the environment, Aurora's philosophy is to respectfully visit these wilderness areas in turn creating ambassadors for their protection.

Having pioneered a number of adventure activities in remote destinations, Aurora Expeditions offer an extensive program of activities including mountain climbing, sea kayaking, scuba diving and photography. All voyages are run under the guidance of its team of experienced expedition staff, expert naturalists, historians and crew.
Aurora Expeditions has had nearly 20 years operating expedition cruises worldwide. Taking a maximum of 54 passengers in the polar regions, and 70 in the tropics, its ships allow for the most personal experience and convivial atmosphere on board.

Aurora Expeditions Cruise Areas

Aurora’s fleet of small ships are chosen for their suitability to each destination, ice-strengthened in the Polar regions and shallow drafts for the tropics – allowing access to the most remote regions. The Polar Pioneer and the Akademik Shokalskiy spend their year cruising the world's polar regions and other wild and remote places; the Coral Princess cruises the tropical waters of Australia’s top end; and the Oceanic Discoverer plies the tropical waters of Papua New Guinea and Melanesia.
