DINING ROOM TABLE ASSIGNMENT
The crew aboard Prow's Edge has summarized some of the comments of previous cruise visitors aboard Prow's Edge about table assignments.
Most cruise line dining rooms offer a selection of differently sized tables at different locations.
Tables for two are at a premium, and if this is your preference, you need to make sure you make that request early in the booking procedures.
Some passengers prefer to dine alone with their travelling partner, especially on honeymoon or anniversary voyages and if the cruise line is made aware of the circumstances they are usually very accommodating.
For a lot of passengers, however, tables for 4,6 or 8 guests are the preferable choice. Part of the fun of a cruise for these guests is meeting people and making new friends in which case a table of eight offers the ideal situation to get to know a group of people.
The location of your table can also make a difference to your cruise.
Tables by the window are the most preferred, as are tables on the edge of the balcony sections where people watching can be fun.
Whatever the size of table, or location in the cruise ship dining room you are assigned, if there is a problem, make sure you see the maitre d’ as soon as possible after your first meal and request the changes.
Many cruise passengers have told Prow’s Edge horror stories of fellow guests, from the bores to the argumentative, they were stuck with for seven nights.
Be aware that you can do something about it.
