Alaska with Regent Seven Seas Cruises
"It’s like dah’monds on the water!” she whispered, respectfully lowering her South Carolina drawl as the Seven Seas Mariner glided through the broken ice towards the spectacular Hubbard Glacier of Yakutat Bay. "Dah’monds everywhere!"
Indeed, Nancy, diamonds everywhere!
Diamonds on the water, a flush of diamonds in her big casino win the night before, diamonds in the duty free shops of Ketchikan and Juneau, Skagway and Sitka, and the largest gem of all - the Seas Mariner, offering a multifaceted cruise experience that sparkles in every sense of the word.

Caribbean with Star Clippers
Jazz and cruising might sound like a strange mixture. We assume that jazz fans and musicians prefer to enjoy their music and liquor in stationary venues and bars. But ever since New Orleans bands played on the Mississippi riverboats a century ago the partnership of jazz and water has been popular.
In the depths of winter I searched for a cruise that would include a hot climate and some lively jazz. Luckily Star Clippers, which operates the world’s three tallest sailing ships, has recently started jazz-theme cruises in the Caribbean.

Croatian Adriatic with Elegant Cruises
Life on the sea suits a woman like me. This is if I get to start my day with a chance to chat with the Captain over a quiet cup of breakfast coffee or have the smiling Chef give me the recipe from last night’s delicious dinner. I got to enjoy these pleasures plus many more on the yacht-like MS Monetas it cruised along the beautiful and historical Croatian Coast.
The Monet’s popular 8-day/7-night classic itinerary, ”Venice & the Dalmatian Coast”, sails roundtrip Venice to Venice between April and November, giving the traveler an opportunity to have two holidays for the price of one air ticket.

Myanmar with Orient Express
“On the road to Mandalay, Where the flyin’ fishes play. An’ the dawn comes up like thunder outer China ‘crost the bay!”
Poet Rudyard Kipling spent only 48 hours in Burma (now Myanmar) and from that short trip came the now legendary but erroneous poem On The Road to Mandalay. There are no ‘flying fishes’ and to add to this factually incorrect stanza the dawn does not come up “like thunder outer China crost the Bay”.

Scotland with Hebridean International Cruises
If you've ever seen a stereotypical postcard of a luxury country house hotel you know the sort of thing: casually-elegant atmosphere and comfort, five-star cuisine chances are you could be looking at the Hebridean Princess.
The ship has all that and more. The difference is that Hebridean Princess is a floating country house hotel, and one of the Captain’s tasks is simply to change the view, exploring Scotland’s western isles and remote coastal villages as he does so.

Trans Atlantic with Windstar Cruises
It took Christopher Columbus over 70 days to cross the Atlantic from the Caribbean back to Spain. Our journey to Lisbon, in Portugal, aboard the Wind Surf, more than 500 years later, sadly, took only 14 days.
Columbus had to lie to his crew about the progress made on his historic voyages, exaggerating the pace before the men revolted at the prospect of too many more days at sea. Aboard the Wind Surf, pride of the Windstar fleet, we would have been quite content to suffer any delays.
