Christmas Cruises

Christmas cruises appeal for a wide range of reasons - the most cynical of which is that more and more people can’t wait to get away for the holidays and leave the traditional family feuding behind.
But that’s not really the case for most Christmas cruisers. In fact, a Christmas cruise is the ideal family vacation for that time of year. The stress of holiday preparations is eliminated, on board activities cater to all generations from the children to Grandpa, there is space to get away for quiet time, and space and time to enjoy quality moments with everyone.
A Christmas cruise, of course, has to be selected with the same criteria in mind as for any cruise at any time of year. Budget, destination area and type of cruise ship. Some may prefer a traditional-style Christmas cruise up to where Father Christmas really lives, others a “fun-for-all” jaunt in the sunny waters of the Caribbean.
Most Christmas cruise ships are decorated for the season, and all offer special programs celebrating the holiday, from religious services and traditional feasts, to themed entertainment and activities that are a far cry from charades in your crowded den back home.
The majority of Christmas cruises sell out fairly quickly, so booking early is recommended, particularly as flights and transport to the departure ports are more difficult at that time of year
