HILO & KAILUIA-KONA
HAWAII BIG ISLAND

hotels and accommodation in Hilo & Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Big Island

The cruise liners plying the Hawaiian waters are fortunate to have a choice of two great destination ports-of-call on Hawaii Big island: Hilo and/or Kailua-Kona.

Hilo offers a mix of attractions include Rainbow Falls, one of the Big Island's loveliest waterfalls, and the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory which offers tours of the acadamia nut factory and orchards. Located on the outskirts of Hilo the Nani Mau Gardens provides visitors with 20 acres of garden experiences including fruit orchard with coffee, macadamia nut and chocolate trees.

Kailua-Kona, along the shoreline of Kailua Bay at the base of the Hualalai Volcano, once the home of kings and missionaries, is a popular and quaint destination port with Hawaii’s first church, the Hulihee Palaca and Sadie Seymour Botanical Gardens.

The Big Island’s Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the number one visitors attraction in the State of Hawaii, is the Earth’s longest- ever recorded continuous eruption. Other National Parks on the Big Island include Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park, and Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site.

Ar Parker Ranch visitors can discover the colorful paniolo (cowboy) heritage of Waimea. The Big Island's diversity makes it easy to find adventure at every turn – deep-blue ocean and sandy beaches, ancient petroglyph fields and fishponds, and rainforest hikes. Hawaii’s Big Island is known as the Golf Capital of Hawaii.
