There has been a lot of debate about whether cruise ships should completely ban smoking or not. I am just glad that they have made the restrictions they have, not for me, or for the other passengers who don't want to be surrounded by smoke, but for the staff and crew on board. I know how uncomfortable it is to be working in that smoky environment - when I first started as an entertainer on the cruise ships smoking was allowed almost everywhere, and it wasn't fun trying to sing at the cocktail bar piano when people around you were blowing smoke in your face. The bar staff and I were stuck - we couldn't get up and leave like the cruise passengers who objected to it. I'm glad to see that the staff and crew now don't have to put up with it anymore!

Don’t count on the entire crew being happy about the smoking restrictions! I’ve seen many slipping away for a quick fag in a hidden staff corner or puffing away on the bow. But on the whole I have to agree the increasing restrictions are a welcome change.

its ok to all the crews to smoke as long as their doing their jobs, and we cant easily take habit to them because smoking sometimes fades away the boredom and stress..
