Visitors can ride the world’s steepest passenger railway on Lookout Mountain Incline Railway. Some 1,120 feet below the surface of Lookout Mountain is Ruby Falls, a spectacular 145ft. natural underground waterfall. Other attractions are Rock City, Tennessee Wildlife Center, the world’s largest freshwater Aquarium, and the vacation complex Chattanooga Choo Choo. The Dragon Dreams Museum has thousands of porcelain and other dragons.
Bessie Smith started singing the blues on the streets of Chattanooga and her legacy lives on at the Chattanooga African-American Museum and Bessie Smith Hall.
Not far from Chattanooga, Dolly Parton’s home town of Sevierville showcases 100 years of high-flying history at The Tennessee Museum of Aviation. Pigeon Forge is the home of Dollywood amusement park.
