Ports of Call - USA - Ohio -Cincinnati

The nation’s first sternwheelers brought the Ohio River to life and the riverboats cruising the Mississippi today still make Cincinnati a regular port of call.
Located about mid-point on the shoreline of the 980-mile long Ohio River, Cincinnati showcases its rich heritage at museums in the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, itself a National Historic Landmark Cincinnati History Museum, Cincinnati Museum of Natural History and Science, and Duke Energy Children's Museum where kids can climb, crawl and explore.
They can also enjoy the fun of the waterfront at the Newport Aquarium, the Beach Waterpark and at Paramount's Kings Island theme park. Another attraction is the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.
Attractions of historical significance are the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, the Heritage Village Museum, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and the MainStrasse Village’s 19th-century village. Cincinnati is home to the American Classical Music Hall of Fame.
Cincinnati hosts the second largest Oktoberfest in the world (after the original Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany). The Fountain Square serves as the heart of Cincinnati.
Ulysses S. Grant's Birthplace is at Batavia, east of Cincinnati where visitors can also see Chateau LaRoche, a medieval castle scale model built by one man over a period of 51 years.
Cincinnati has 3,000 hotel rooms downtown and more than 22,500 city-wide and all are close to attractions, dining and nightlife.
