CELL PHONES |
|
The first and most obvious reason is that for emergencies the cell phone is invaluable. If you are faced with delays or unforeseen problems, you have a direct way to communicate with family, the cruise line, airline and airport, taxi etc without having to line up to use a land phone. The truth is when traveling you never know when you will need to contact someone in a hurry, or indeed, when someone else may need to contact you before you head for the open seas. Also, few passengers realize that you can also use the phone while still on board when you are close to shore. and in fact, many ports have cellular service that offers rates that are usually much less than those of the cruise ships. Some popular cruising areas, like the Caribbean, have surprisingly good coverage and if you have free roaming as a part of your service, the call might even be free. All in all, this is not an item you want to leave at home! |
