Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines
Fred. Olsen operates a fleet of four small to medium sized cruise ships, mostly from a range of UK departure ports. Destinations range from 2 and 3 night mini cruises to 100-night plus round the world and long voyages. During the winter, one ship, Braemar, is positioned in the Caribbean offering two-week cruises mostly from Barbados. For the rest of the year, the fleet cruises to Northern Europe, Arctic, Baltic, Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Africa, Caribbean, North and South America, and round the world. UK ports of departure are Dover, Southampton, Liverpool, Newcastle, Rosyth (for Edinburgh), and Grenock (for Glasgow).
The fleet currently consists of four ships: Balmoral, Black Watch, Boudicca and Braemar.
The latest brochure covering all cruises in 2010 and up to April 2011 features 119 different cruises, taking in 260 ports in 121 different countries or islands.
Fred. Olsen also offers additional activity and entertainment programmes:
The ArtsClub: a special interest programme available on selected cruises on all ships in the fleet. Subjects are varied and include Dance, Wildlife, Photography, and Wine. This is not pre-booked and passengers can dip in and out as they choose. There is no cost involved, apart from a small charge for wine tastings and painting materials.
Flagship Golf: At an additional cost and available on selected cruises in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Baltic and Canary Islands, it includes four rounds of golf, practice sessions and tuition with the resident PGA pro on board, fun competitions and social events for golfers and non-playing partners. This package must be booked before the cruise begins.
